Solar Panels & Heat Pumps
Solar Panels: Generate your own electricity and dramatically cut your energy bills with Solar PV. Solar panels can save you between €200–€300 a year on your domestic electricity bill. The SEAI grant offers up to €1,800 to help cover installation costs, making it easier to switch to clean, renewable energy.
Heat Pumps: Offer a cleaner, more efficient alternative to oil or gas heating. By replacing your existing system, you can significantly reduce heating costs, lower energy consumption, and cut greenhouse gas emissions. They also enhance comfort and efficiency in your home. The SEAI grant provides up to €6,500 to support installation, making it easier to switch to sustainable heating.
Insulation
Insulation: Poor insulation leads to higher heating costs and wastes energy. Upgrading your attic or roof insulation can reduce heat loss by up to 30%, while improving wall insulation (cavity, internal, or external) can cut heat loss by up to 35%. These are among the most cost-effective energy upgrades for Irish homes. SEAI grants are available: up to €1,500 for attic insulation, €1,700 for cavity wall, €4,500 for internal, and €8,000 for external wall insulation.
Windows & Doors Upgrade: Upgrading old windows and doors can greatly improve comfort and reduce draughts in your home. Modern, energy-efficient models help cut heat loss and external noise by up to 10%, making your living space warmer and quieter. SEAI support for these upgrades is available under deep retrofit schemes, helping you invest in long-term energy savings.
