Online Membership Applications

Your credit union enables you to apply for membership online. Should you be registering for online account access, please visit our CUOnline+ page.


Please review the steps below before completing your online membership application:

  1. Review the common bond below to clarify your eligibility for membership. Ineligible applications will be declined.
  2. Applications via digital onboarding are solely for applicant(s) of 16 years of age and over.
  3. Ensure you complete all sections of the application, as incomplete fields will delay in processing your application. If you require further explanations please visit our Online Membership Applications – Glossary of Terms.
  4. Please note you can save a partial application and update the application within 14 days of saving such. Ensure you take note of the reference number (e.g. screen shot), as this reference number will be required when resuming your application.
  5. Upload your documents. Missing documents will delay the processing of your application. The below documents are accepted.
  6. A once off account opening fee of €1.27 will be charged to your account.

1) Proof of Identity

  1. Take a snapshot of yourself, by clicking the Capture ID Snapshot button in the membership form. This should be a “selfie”, passport-style photo, with only you in the image
  2. Upload your ID document e.g. Valid* Passport, Valid* Driver’s Licence.

Please Note: name(s) and photograph on snapshot and ID must match applicant

Please Note: We cannot accept PPS Cards/Public Service Cards as ID

*VALID – Current and in date

*We understand that because of your circumstances, that you may not have access to standard documents e.g. if you are seeking asylum or have recently been granted refugee status. Please speak with us on the alternatives we can accept.

2) Proof of Address

Upload your Proof of Address documents e.g.

  • Recent** Utility Bill
  • Recent** Bank Statement
  • Recent** Government Issued Documentation

Please note: if using online statements/bills, we require 2 forms of proof address, each being from a different provider

3) Proof of PPSN

Upload your proof of PPSN e.g. Recent** payslip or P60

Please Note: Due to legislation, we cannot accept PPS Cards/Public Service Cards as ID

Please note:

  • If you are joining because a family member is already an account holder with HSSCU, we will need that family member’s name, account number and relationship to you
  • If you are joining through your occupation please include a copy of your recent* payslip or work ID (recent* dated within the last three months)

Everyone listed below is within Health Services Staffs Credit Union Limited’s common bond:


Employees, retirees and trainees, resident within the state of the Health Services Executive, Voluntary and Private Hospitals, Clinics and Practices providing direct healthcare and:


  • Employees of centres providing healthcare to the disabled
  • Persons, resident in the State, who are undertaking a degree in general nursing, psychiatric nursing, paediatrics or midwifery
  • Employees, resident in the State, of the Health Services Staffs Credit Union Limited
  • Persons residing and employed within our geographical area(s)


Employees of:


  • Law Library, Court Services and Hayes DX that work for the Court Services
  • Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited and its affiliated companies
  • Eircom and An Post or any wholly owned subsidiary of Eircom and An Post, employees of St Gabriel’s Credit Union Ltd, and employee’s resident or employed within the province of Munster companies: Vodafone Ireland Ltd, NTL Irish Networks Ltd, Three Ireland Ltd, Meteor Mobile Communications, Phonewatch, Golden Pages, One Direct and National Lottery

Also included are family members of a current member. ‘Family Members’ include: husband, wife, civil partners, sons, daughters, parents, brothers, sisters, half-brothers, half-sisters, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandsons, granddaughters, father-in-laws, mother-in-laws, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and first cousins.
