Our Gender Pay Gap Report
Health Services Staffs Credit Union (HSSCU) has published its first Gender Pay Gap Report, now available on our website and can be viewed on the link below. The report highlights the percentage difference between what men and women are paid on average in our organisation, regardless of role or level.
The gender pay gap refers to the difference in average hourly wages between men and women. It is calculated in two ways: a mean, which is the average of all values, and a median, which is the middle value. For context, the CSO reported that Ireland’s overall gender pay gap in 2022 was 9.6%.
Commenting on the publication, Louise McQuillan, HRD Manager, said:
“At HSSCU, we are dedicated to creating and sustaining an open, inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We actively work to remove barriers to equality and ensure that all employees have equal opportunities for recognition, career development, and fair treatment. Our commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is reflected in the range of initiatives and supports we provide, fostering a culture where every voice is valued and respected.”
Together, we will continue to build a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Our remuneration structure is based on salary scales per grade and level within the organisation, which helps to alleviate gender pay inequality. However, this report, along with our audit and research, highlights the importance of transparency in our reward structures.
