Credit Unions Named Ireland’s Most Respected Provider of Financial Services – RepTrak® 2021

News, Thursday 6th May, by HSSCU

Credit unions have been voted as the most highly regarded financial services organisation in Ireland!

We are thrilled to announce that RepTrak® has found credit unions have the strongest reputation of all financial service providers in Ireland. What’s more, is that we came in 2nd place out of all organisations nationwide, no matter the industry!

What is RepTrak®?

RepTrak® is a reputation and communications agency that provides an annual report on 100 Irish organisations and their reputations.

What Did RepTrak® Say About Credit Unions?

Credit Unions were placed first in Governance and in Citizenship – two pillars of reputation. In the analysis of brand personality traits that correlated to reputation, credit unions came first in ‘Friendly’ and ‘Genuine’ amongst the 100 organisations studied.

The Ireland RepTrak® 2021 study is based on a survey of over 6,500 members of the public. It gathers data on trust, respect, admiration, and esteem for Irish organisations. We were thrilled to come in 2nd place.

ILCU President Thoughts:

Speaking about the achievement, ILCU President, Helene McManus said: “We are delighted to celebrate this good news and congratulate Irish credit unions for their consistently high performance in the RepTrak survey. It really is a fantastic achievement to consistently remain in the top two for the past three years. It has been an incredibly difficult year for all organisations and businesses. Credit unions all around the country have remained a cornerstone of their local communities and continue to go above and beyond for their members.”

Niamh Boyle, Managing Director of The Reputations Agency said: “Pride in Irish indigenous organisations increased average Reputation Pulse score by close to four points, with a five-point increase in Innovation, but with increases in Citizenship, Governance and Workplace scores also driving this increase. For the first time in 12 years, the reputation of the 53 Irish indigenous organisations (average 71.6) overtook the 47 multinationals organisations (average 70.9) that were studied.”

Who Else Did Well?

We would also like to give a shout-out of support to our healthcare workers in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital who joined us in the top 5 of Ireland’s most reputable organisations. We are extremely proud to serve Ireland’s healthcare sector and to see a representation of this stature is amazing! Furthermore, An Post was amongst the top ranks. HSSCU caters to all An Post employees in Munster so it was fantastic to see their hard work be recognised.
